DIY Guide: Kitchen Remedies for Blackheads

Homemade Blackheads Remover

It’s distracting to see the tip of your nose with all the blackheads making it rough and look dirty. Sometimes, all you do is accept the fact that it’s just there and it’s not worth the trouble to be brought at the facial spa. You can still make your nose smooth and shiny even without spending on facial treatments and expensive products. These DIY blackheads remover that you can do at home can do the work for you:

  1. Egg White Pore Strip

Egg whites are widely known to effectively tighten the pores, and blackheads are usually caused by open pores so when oil and dead skin cells react with oxygen, it results to a black substance trapped in the skin. For the egg white strip, just separate the egg yolk to the white then set aside the yolk (you can still use the egg yolk for cooking so don’t throw it). Basically, you just have to wash your face first and pat with clean towel to dry then apply a thin layer of egg white. While it’s still wet, place a tissue paper over the egg white and wait for it to dry. Once the egg white is completely dry, cover it with another thin layer of egg white and tissue paper. Wait for it to dry out completely then peel the tissue off. Wash your face again to remove some residue and wait for it to air dry before you moisturize.

  1. Baking Soda Paste

Baking soda is the jack of all trades when it comes to home remedies. Now, let’s get to know baking soda more. It is effective for exfoliation and it neutralizes the skin’s PH that helps control the oil balance on your skin. Just mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda and 1 tablespoon of water and you can now apply it over your nose while gently rubbing it in circular motion. After you do this, just wash your face thoroughly with water then moisturize.

  1. Apple Cider Vinegar Toner

For all around skin care benefits, the apple cider vinegar is the products for you. It is known to make wonders not just for the health, but to also clear the skin from blemishes and blackheads. It also balances the PH and has anti-bacterial properties. No doubt it’s the mother of all vinegars. To make the toner, just prepare a small bottle and fill ¾ of it with water and the remaining ¼ with apple cider vinegar. Shake well and use clean cotton pads then rub it on your face gently in circular motion. Let it dry first then apply serums or moisturizer. If you have sensitive skin, you can wash it after a few hours.

  1. Cinnamon and Honey Strips

If you want an extreme anti-bacterial mixture, cinnamon and honey is the perfect combo. Though they’re mostly known for making our desserts better, they can also make your skin brighter. Cinnamon can help the flow of blood circulation and honey can instantly remove impurities to give your skin a healthy glow. What more can we ask from these two? Just mix 1 tablespoon of cinnamon and 1 tablespoon of honey then apply it on your nose. Put a thin cotton pad and let it sit in for at least 3 minutes before you peel it and wash your face. You can rub it with ice after washing to close your pores.
